vinyl hose

Whats the best way to get the vinyl hose over the babed fittings? Will vasaline screw up my tank:thumbdown Im sure you guys have ideas thanks

heat it with a lighter, or hairdryer, it will become very flexible, just dont get it so hot it melts of folds up

I use hot tap water... Works great and don't have to worry about melting.

Hot water works great but when it is time to remove it you will have a hard time, I recommend using a little bit of Silicone grease and spread it in the fitting (not inside the hose) then insert the hose. To facilitate removal use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the hose and fitting. Do not pull the hose stright out because as it stretches int's diameter is reduced so the hose will strongly grip the fitting. Instead use a rocking motion on the hose using the tip of the fitting as a supporting point to rock the hose sideways.

I dip the end into boiling water. It tends to mold to the barbs, and really isn't difficult to remove. Regardless, I use stainless steel clamps to eliminate any risk of slow leaks.
