Violence in Mexico

As several of you may have known, I was leading a team of doctors and volunteers to Mexico to do some medical mission work this week. Unfortunately the increasing violence had just spread last night close to the area we were going to work so we had to call off the trip at the last minute. Our host missionary is still unable to get back to where we were going to work because of the escalating violence.

I have outstanding meetings, frag exchanges etc with multiple people in our community and I am now fortunately and unfortunately with much free time this weekend. I know I have postponed several of these things to get ready for this trip.

I think that is the smart move, even though all the good that you would have done while you were there, it is better that you are here to do your good work at a later and safer date.

Probably a good idea... I just came back on Friday, was about 20 miles away from where that mass grave was found. If you don't know your way around, and have significant experience travelling in and out over the past couple of year, it isn't the place to be right now!
