Going to NYC for Xmas lights and to propose to my longtime girlfriend. Does anyone have any suggestions on "must see" places we should go to?

Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and St Patrick's Cathedral, then walk up 5th Ave or 6th to the entrance to Central Park and then back down 5th Ave to the Empire State Biulding, go to the top, come down walk down 33rd st to Macy's.

5th Ave walk should take you past the window displays of Lord & Taylor, Sak's, Tiffany's, Bergdoff's, Cartier, and many others.

No better place to enjoy Christmas.

Reverse the direction if needed. How are you getting there, driving?

Dave

I agree with that gameplan but keep in mind a billion other people are going to be doing the same thing at the same time as you.

If it's a nice day you can get to the bottom of Manhattan and take the Staten Island ferry over and back again (you have to get out in the terminal at SI and get back on) to get a cool view of the whole area from the water. There are some good places to eat down in the financial district that won't be as crowded with holiday tourists as the places uptown.

1st...are you sure about getting married?
2nd..."must see" tourist sites, or LFSs?
3rd...tell the truth...are you planning to propose at top of Empire State Building????

Thanks dave.. We are driving..
Albano- #1 umm yes umm no .. jk She is wonderful and puts up with me and my expensive hobbies (Two wheeled and reefing). So unequivocally yes.
#2 Both?!?
#3 No I am planning to do it by the Rockefeller tree Thurs nite.

Parking could be a potential problem, try to have a plan ahead of time. Are you staying overnight somewhere?

If you have a spare $250 a horse and carraige ride through central park has potential for romance:)

If you are into museums and art I highly recommend the Metropolitan museum of Art, MOMA, The Frick Collection, and/or the Cloisters....all wonderful museums with different flavors.

Not a lot of good reef stores in the city. The best is on 38th St. near 2nd Ave...New World Aquarium. But honestly, while I lived in NYC I always went to New Jersey for fish and corals!

I was having issues posting with our android global (worst droid:( )
SHE SAID YES>>> :)
Ill update with a vid of the proposal when I get back from the bills game tomorrow.. Thanks for the info and the well wishes..
