Vitamin C Dosing?

Hello Everyone,

I just got my special order of Sodium ascorbate from my local coop. I wanted to know if this is the right stuff before I start putting it in my tank. I have attached a picture of the label of the product.

Here is the description word for word from the label:
"Sodium Ascorbate Crystals, Supports Immune System

Sodium ascorbate is non-acidic (pH neutral), making it gentle on the digestive system. It provides the sodium necessary to carry out the active absorption of the ascorbic acid. Vitamin C plays a vital role in the formation of collagen (a structural protein in connective tissue), amino acid metabolism and hormone synthesis, and the utilization of many nutrients, such as folic acid and iron. It is also a key factor in the body's immune system.

Suitable for vegetarians and HYPOALLERGENIC: contains no yeast, dairy, egg, gluten, corn, soy or wheat. Contains no sugar, starch, preservatives, or artificial color, flavor or fragrance.

SUPPLEMENTAL FACTS
Serving Size 1/2 Teaspoon (approx. 2.4 g) Servings per Container 189
Vitamin C (as sodium ascorbate) 2 g 3,333%
Sodium (as sodium ascorbate) 280 mg 12%"

Please let me know if this is the correct product, and then what amount I should start dosing in my tank.

Thanks in advance for you help and expertise.

Robert

http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1602494 Look through that thread. I bought the stuff recommended to my by pufferpunk. I believe what makes the other product correct for aquarium usage is that it is buffered in a specific way. I'm not at home to get the label for you but you can look through that thread and there are several links in there for the same product. Good luck, VC works pretty dang good.

I have posted in that thread as well and have read it. The reason I went with the product I did is because I have had my identity stolen online and do not like purchasing things online. And the store I bought the powder from could not get the iherb products.

I just want to know that since the product that I bought is in powder form and is ph neutral if it will still work on my tank.

Understandable. Still, i would get in touch with the op of that thread or with pufferpunk to double check the product your using.
