Vitamin C order

Yeah, the main colony looks fine, its the frag I got from you earlier that's not cooperating quite as I'd like it to. I'm not really sure what's going on with it...

I've only been dosing both of my systems for 4 days now, and already, I can see better color in both my Nukes and a couple of the other types of zoanthids in my tank. The most impressive thing is, in my 30G softie tank, I had 5 thick stalks of pom-pom xenia, and as of today, it has split into 8 or 9 thick stalks... I took some before pics, but I'm waiting until I can capture some more definitive progress to post any updates.

Oh yeah, I'm only dosing 5ppm in both of my systems for now, I'm just trying to gain the better color and faster polyp reproduction. In my 30g with 10g prop tank, I'm dosing 1/8tsp 2x daily, and my 75g with 30g sump is getting 3/8tsp 2x a day.

Order placed.

Shipping was free.

Each bottle was $13.79

I will update this thread when they arrive.

sweet. when do you want to meet up?

I can meet you on my way home from work tomorrow. I pass through Bridgeville every day.

If I get a chance tomorrow, I'm going to post up some before and after pictures in my own thread. I'm honestly very impressed with the results I've seen already in just a week. I had some AoG's that only one polyp retained a little bit of the pink ring, all the rest had browned out. Three days after dosing, as well as moving the polyps to a slightly less flow area, they are bright pink again, and I've noticed three new polyps in this past week... I think you all will be very pleased with Vit-C dosing!

Is there some new info on vit C? I've heard and read in the past it helps when fragging to somehow help heal I guess. I've used it in the past but with no conclusions.

Very interesting results they reported. I'd like to hear how it goes for you guys. I'm reading through the thread for the first time and it seems positive. I skipped over a lot of it though. Is everyone dosing VC just because of its effects on zooanthids, or for other reasons also? At what rate are you dosing? I'm interested in how VC dosing is linked to increased bacterial growth and waste. I was reading reports of increased need for organic waste removal. This sound very similar to other dosing chemicals, but I'm hoping there is in fact another reason why the zooanthids and maybe other corals overall heath seems to improve besides the removal of excess organics from the system. Something along the lines of killing or preventing the actual infecting bacteria by building up other bacteria to fight it. Bacterial Wars! Sounds cool, but lets see if it can work for more people. So I'd very much like to hear how it goes.

I meant to start a thread on my experiences, but I haven't gotten around to it yet... I've been dosing about a week and a half. Before I started, my Armor of God's had browned out, all except for one polyp. Three days after I started, the pink started to come back, five days in, they were brighter than they'd ever been. There are four new polyps starting to grow on it, the most that's grown in the whole time I've had the frag. All of my other zoanthids have been reproducing a lot faster, and their colors have been enhanced since starting, but the AoG's really took me by surprise...

In my softies tank, I noticed my pom-pom xenia has been splitting off like crazy since I started dosing.

My one system is a 75 display, 30 sump, and 70 frag tank - I dose 5/8 tsp 2x daily

My other system is a 30 display, 10 frag/fuge tank - I dose 1/8 tsp 2x daily

The only negatives I ran into were with my GSP and Yellow Sun Polyps. Both corals retracted about halfway for the first week, but the last few days, it seems like they've gotten used to it. You'll be emptying out your skimmer daily, because this stuff pulls out A LOT of skimmate. I am a believer in Vit-C, and will continue to dose until I tear down the tanks a long time from now.

One thing I did notice is that my filter socks would get full of a slime (nitrates?) and clog after one day as opposed to the usual 4-5 days.

Also as Mark noted above, skimmate production increased 3x's.

When I first started dosing in my zoanthid dominated tank I had issues with all of my LPS dying off. Could have been some other problem though as I am dosing in my 180 that has lots of LPS and have had no issues.
