Vitamin C Question

I'm wondering if I get my tank up to 50ppm of VC will it harm or help any new arrivals (Corals) that were not exposed to any VC in the past?

It looks as if this is the required amount.

From http://www.athiel.com/lib2/pguide/vitami1.html

"Day 1 : concentration of 5 ppm
Day 2 : concentration of 15 ppm
Day 3 : concentration of 30 ppm
Day 4 : concentration of 50 ppm
After day 4, continue treating with a concentration of 50 ppm for 10 more days.
The total treatment period is thus 14 days"

Is it too much?

That has been adjusted by us to this:
[desired ppm] x [system gallonage] x 3.785 = mg Vitamin C

So for every 100 gallons:

5 ppm ----- 1892 mg VC
10 ppm ---- 3785 mg VC
15 ppm ---- 5677 mg VC
20 ppm ---- 7570 mg VC
25 ppm ---- 9462 mg VC
30 ppm ---- 11355 mg VC

I have never found it necessary to dose over 25ppm. I'm at a pretty steady dose of around 23ppm right now & have been for months.

Ok, that's good to know. 50 ppm is ALOT of VC. I'm on day 4 and actually under shot required amounts. I'm more like 20ppm.

Thanks

I think things (mostly Zoo's) are looking a bit better, just in this short amount of time. This is a very interesting theory. I'm actually in the business and I find this intriguing. I had a bunch of new arrivals yesterday and I'm curios to see how they will respond to this. They seem to open up a faster and my red PE's are looking better already.

Thanks
