Vitamin C

Has anyone noticed any color/health difference when dosing vitamin C?? I don't know if it is just me, but my oranges are BRIGHT ever since I've started dosing 2 months ago. I dose mine with 250mg a week. It is a 29 gallon BioCube. Let me hear your stories!

Yeah I am noticing the doubling in size as well. I had some utter chaos that were shrinking up a bit and now they are coming back fuller, and more colorful than ever. My cornbred atomic space monsters are growing out of my tank now lol.

I've been dosing my 120 gal reef 1tsp twice a day since day one (2/12) with great results. Skimmate sticks like crazy.

I plan on starting up. I tried in the past but was too inconsistent. I pay much more attention to my tank now so I am fairly certain I can keep up this time.

What would you guys recommending to dose to a 90 gallon with a 30 gallon sump and how often? Put it in tsp Because I don't have a scale that measures grams or milligrams.

I think 1/3 tsp should be a good starting point. That should give low levels of VC and help build your bacteria levels. You could go higher over time, but I would start here and dose 2Xper day

One third tsp indeed.always start slow! Then gradually increase dosage. I started once every other well, now i do it every week.

Has anyone tried Vitamin C disovable tablets you get at any local drug store? I have a 180 gal with 60 sump and thought about dropping in one 1000mg vitamin c tablet a day...any thoughts?

I have a 260g mixed reef and i used Vitamin C from Kent with great results also.

But was also wondering if we can use disovable tablets ?????

I have read that these contain extra ingredients that you don't want in your tank. Something like the extra stuff lowers pH if I remember correctly. can throw parameters off.

I have great experience with it. I started a while back in my 29g and color and growth went crazy!

I just started in my 110g, and zoas that have been closed for a long time are finally opening up.

There's positives and also negatives. I've stopped dosing that long ago.
