Vlamingii or Lopezi Tang?

I posted this question in my build thread, but thought I would post it here as well...

A question came up about our Naso Tang aka (Charlie)... Is he a Vlamingi or a Lopezi? I'd prefer he would be a Lopezi, because they don't get as large, plus it's easier to type Lopezi! :idea:

And photos of (reported) Naso Vlamingii:

The Vlamingii photos I have seen online seem to have a common bluish streak under the eye. That appears to be absent in Charlie - to me, he looks closet to the second picture of the Naso Lopezi above...

Any thoughts?

Looks like a Vlamingi tang to me, but whatever it is charlie is one nice looking fish!

Hard to say for sure. Your fish seems to have the smaller speckles of the vlamingi rather than the larger dots of the lopezi. AFAIK, Vlamingi's are much more common in the aquarium trade as well so that seems more likely.

That's the concensus for sure. So Charlie came to me as a Vlamingii, and a Vlamingii he will stay...
