Hello everyone! I have set up a new 100 gallon reef and am going to look at a vlamingii tang ( 2 inches i am aware i will have to return him soon as they grow quickly ) thursday and cant find a lot of info on them. I have read they are aggressive to other tangs but to my knowledge all tangs are aggressive towards tangs of similar size / shape / color. Are they particularly aggressive against other tangs? I wanted a yellow tang as well.
I have heard / read about the blue reef chromis and its tendency to cause shy fish to swim about more. I have seen these in several tanks and they were very fast constant swimmers but even on live aquaria to buy 12 of these ( 6 for the 100 ) would be costly. My question: are the blue reef chromis especially good at making shy fish swim about more? Or is this typically a trait of all chromis? On love aquaria it only states this trait as a trait of blue reef chromis.
In your opinion what is the best schooling fish for a reef aquarium?
I understand failure should be expected as most fail attempting schooling fish in a reef.
I have also seen this fish host in
anemones with clowns???
Should i place any worry in the blue reef chromis ( assuming these are the fish i select ) being picked on by the vlamingii tang?
