I am having trouble choosing which to buy. I know there is a lot of pros/cons based on price, up keep, dosing and more. Currently I am leaning toward Biopellets or vodka or maybe both if that will work ok. Zeovit I like but can't find a quality reactor that I that will fit my sump.
Is there any major diffrences in results or will they all do pretty much the same in just their own way or is there diffrences noted in color, growth, stability of various water parameters and so on with each diffrent type?

Both biopellets and the zeovit bio line are means of controlling nutrient in your water, so it really doesn't matter which way you go as long as you know what you're doing.

Additives, however, must be added carefully if you want to "fine tune" your corals' color.

i am curious after seeing this thread as well as i am considerng future changes like this the further into sps i get...

I have been running biopellets for 3 months now on a sps tank and have had excellent results. I had 4 snails die which spiked po4 up to .18 ppm 12 hours later it was .03 ppm. Defenitly better/easier than vodka Imo. No experience in zeo.

Hi, I am using bio-pellets, have not tried vodka, but did use a little rum left over from birthday party. My corals all have excellent color and growth, but my tank was getting too clean and am feeding more.

What are you wanting to accomplish?

I've used Zeo for a year and did not care for the method. IMO, too much pumping the reactor and dosing for my taste.... not to mention the cost..that stuff gets expensive! I'm currently using Bio-pellets....they're basically solid carbon (vodka) dosing without having to dose anything. Gives me more time to enjoy the tank rather than dosing and pumping a reactor 2x a day!

+1 for minimal fussing via biopellet "dosing". If you want the low nutrient system, biopellets are easier than vodka. Although you could set up a peristaltic pump to dose the vodka for you, which would also be minimal fussing.

Good luck!
