vodka dosing and GFO

Does anyone use both together? I been using GFO for a long time and wanted to start vodka dosing but read not to mix both. I just love GFO for low po4.

I dose vinegar and use gfo. Does that count? Can you provide a reference where you read that? I'd like to read it and see why not.

I do sugar and GFO together. Dropped phosphate from 0.28 to 0.07 in a week after a bad overdose of food

im dosing vodka with gfo...i read that to, but then later down the road i read somewhere else carbon dosing really helps nitrate level and not so much of phos so i thoguht i would try gfo...and my phos went from .5 with vodka alone to 0ppm over a few months.

I dose 1ml vinegar 30 times during daylight hours via 1ml/min BRS dosing pumpand use about 1/2 cup of GFO and 1 cup GAC each month. So far it's been working well for me.

Granulated Ferride Oxide. Rust basically. It basically binds with phosphates to pull them out of the water column and usually is needed to be replaced monthly depending on the tank.

ill try to find the website i read that vodka(pretty much most liquids suck at phos removing). thats why i do it anyways it does make me watch level a lil more then i would norm.

the higher you ph the fast the bonding will happen

I took my gfo offline and am dosing the lanthium chloride again with pellets and my tanks are looking much better color wise.

Zeo tanks warn against using phosphate removers with bacteria driven systems and I'm seeing why although I cannot explain it!

i think they all say not to do it together and i see better color with them together, only thing is i see purples kinda lose color but everything else is good so far ill keep watching for problems. i hope i dont get any lol
