vodka dosing ? please

i want to start dosing vodka my water prams are all good except my nitrates they are off the chart at like 60 - 80 so i think me starting to dose vodka will help but my question is my phospates are zero also am i doing somthing wrong 0 phospates but realy high nitrates ? will vodka help me:uzi::worried:

It is my understanding that dosing vodka only helps increase the bacteria which aid in the reduction of nitrates, but does not decrease the amount of nitrate in the water. And you need to be careful because adding too much vodka can have undesired effects on your tank.

so im off thinking that dosing vodka or other carbon sorce is a way of getting my nitrate down in my water. i have tryed water changes also

I used vodka on my tank. It creates more bactria to eat the the bad waste. BE VERY CARFUL. Start with like 2 mil do that for a week... go up one every week intill you start seeing it come dowen. Make sure you keep with water changes, also stop dosing once you get to 20. than start with the water changes again. as far as the phospates there are no good test for it so its hard to tell you anything about it. I also highly recommed using the zeo vite system it cost a good amount but it works really well.
