Vodka/MB7

Little background about my system,

I have a 25 gallon cube and 15 gallon shallow frag tank all plumbed together. It was a heavily stocked SPS display. I had 10 small fish at one point and all that waste eventually caught up with me. My tank was doing fantastic, SPS was growing wonderfully, then nitrates spiked and things went down hill.

So, I've reduced bioload by 50%, increased the size of my skimmer, reduced feeding from 4 times a day to 2 times a day, and started a Vodka/MB7 dosing regime. I've reduced nitrates from about 50 to 15 in under two weeks.

In the process I've noticed an outbreak of diatoms on the sand bed. Should I throw in some GFO or continue to dose and wait for the bacteria and skimmer to remove the nutrients?
