Volitan Lionfish question

Hey guys!

I have decided to get a black volitan lionfish so I am removing all of my small fish and shrimps from my 125g reef. I am keeping my Copperband Butterfly, longnoe butterfly, and Longhorn cowfish. My question is what other reef safe tank mates would you recommend? I was thinking to add 1 or 2 more fish in the future.

Thanks,
Dave

Anything that won't fit in his mouth and will get along witht he others you have listed.
Tangs are a good addition here

the cowfish will be eaten, no doubt. The butterflies, maybe. Those lions grow fast.

That would be a small butterfly or a gigantic lionfish. They don't grow as fast as people make it seem,Mine is well fed and has only grown about an inch and a half in a little over a years time.

Shouldn't the lion know not to mess with the cow given the nature of it's toxin?

Not really Lions are absolute pigs if its got their backed turned to them is making themselves readily available to be eaten, isn't looking, and small enough to fit in its mouth its going to try to eat it. Like I said try because its gonna get the cowfish in its mouth the cowfish is going to release its poison and then its bye bye cow fish and lion. Good tank mates for lions are Tangs, Large Angels, Eels, big puffers and some triggers like crosshatch, sargassum, niger, pinktail, blue throat the more placid ones not queens, clowns, huma's, etc.

Thanks guys! So I guess my cowfish is at risk... I have an option to trade it for a larger one (same size as lion). I am hoping that my butterflys will be ok. I am thinking about adding one tang (don't know which one yet) and maybe Maroon clown...

A little off topic but does anyone know if a lionfish will eat urchins or seastars? I was thinking of getting a dwarf lionfish.
