I need some volunteers for the Frag Swap and the Group Order committees. I would guess 2 or three people on the Group Order and 4 or 5 on the Frag Swap. I would like to get both of these going soon.

well that's three women at your service, see how quick you can get the girls when you move up the corporate latter,

Secure a location and date. I think the Agri Center was mentioned. Contact sponsors to see if they will donate raffle prizes. Get raffle tickets. Find some people to give out raffle tickets. Figure out concessions if we want to make them available. Advertise the Swap on other TN, MS and AR msg boards, also the RC magazine will post an ad. Come up with a table lay out, price per table and assign tables as they are spoken for. See if tanks, lights etc can be set up the night before the Swap to give sellers more time for setup and corals time to open. Im sure there are other things that I am forgetting. You guys can get other people to help, I am just looking for some coordinators to be in contact with.

I can handle getting info for all the above. Especially the table lay out we do that now in our business. i've not been to a frag swap how much space do we need? Is this a one day event? Is it usually on weekend? Is the room rental fee covered by the club with hopes of table sales replacingit. Is this a free event or is admission charged at the door?

I am a terrible judge of space. Maybe someone else could help. I think it would need to be big enough for at least 15 tables, an area where people could sit and think about their next purchase/eat and room for a good size crowd to walk. 4000sq ft?? Usually they are held one day on the weekend and last from 12 to between 4 and 6. The club would pay for the room rental, hoping to recover that from the raffle ticket sales and table fees. Admission should be free I think. Cost for raffle tickets, a full or half table etc would need to be worked out.

Scott, how about a presentation on how to frag different corals, etc. They had this in Gallatin and lots of folks crowded around to watch. Make sure there are plenty of electrical outlets. At least 1-2 per table. Make sure the floors are not carpeted. I will want to set up a tank, or share one of the club tanks for the frags I will have and will be willing to bring my pendant 250w MH to go over this tank, if someone can figure how to build something to hang it from. A "Kids Lounge" area with Nemo showing would be great. Lots of spouses and kids were there and looked totally bored. It might be nice to have a place for them to sit and chill while the reefer shops! Just some suggestions from someone who has attended only 1 frag swap.

should the next meeting be ideas and suggestion for the swap that way more may get involve and it would be easier to break down task to others

I was thinking a frag demo would be good also, we would need to work out getting some frags though. Maybe we could convince Barrett to do the demo, he was pretty good at the frag meeting.
I dont know about dedicating all of the next meeting, isnt it on home made additives? I wasnt a member when Jay did his last demo and I would really like to see it done. It wouldn't be a bad secondary topic though.
