Usually UPS batteries should be replaced every 2 to 3 years. I would expect these to be the same. Where I work we change them all at 2 years to ensure it does not fail. If you wanted to wait longer I would recommend a quarterly load test after 2 years and replace them as they begin to fail.
The VorTech Battery Backup is a lead acid type very similar to car batteries. That being said, like a car battery the average life is approximately 2-4 years.
Awesome, thanks for the info Alex! How about if it's not in used or is being plugged into your pump but never had to used it? Average life would be the same?
I'll throw my 2 cents in. I have the battery backup to power my MP10 and during the recent snow storms, I lost power a couple of times. EcoTech's battery backup worked great!!

It's maybe a year old. The power went out for 5 hours and the MP10 kept going. It did switch to 12V from 24V (half power) but worked great. I believe EcoTech says it will last 72 hours with a single MP10. But I really don't want to experience that. Keeping the Heater going was enough of a challenge
