Vortech mp10w ES question

I need a bit of help here guys. I bought an mp10 ES from BRS a while ago, paid $220, and looking at the site, for that price, it is the regular mp10 ES.... However looking at the control pad on the top it says

"VORTECH MP10W"

So I thought that I had gotten the wireless one. So heres my dilemma. Today I decided that I am going to buy another one, and I want to slave them together. Because of what it says on the controller, I thought I had the wireless. So I need to know, did I spend $220 and get the regular ES but the controller has the W anyway, OR did I get the mp10W?

Since I want to get a second one, and get them working together, I'm a little confused, and I want to figure it out before I buy a second one. Thanks!

I think all have the w on the controller but doesn't light blue when you turn it on if you don't have the wireless version.

You can get the wireless upgrade for an extra charge. I believe.

OK hang on, How do I check? It doesn't light blue? If theres a way I can check by turning it on and off to see a colour can someone let me know?

All controllers have the "W" on them.

I just checked mine out. If you turn the knob, the "W" should light up if you have the wireless version. If it doesn't light up, you don't have the wireless version.

You will have to buy the wireless upgrade to make it wireless and talk to another MP10.

Yeah I plan to buy the proper wireless mp10w ES first, and sometime down the road I'll pick up the wireless upgrade controller. My tank is still cycling, so having 2 slaved together is not really that urgent at the moment. I'll want them working together eventually, but for now, since I dont really have the extra cash, I'll just get the real wireless mp10. Thanks for the help guys. I probably would have been trying to get them working together for a while....

Why do they put "W" on all of them if they aren't wireless?

Probably cost. It's easier to manufacture just one style.

And so you can upgrade later.

Easiest way to know is when the w lights up blue and stays blue, if your still skeptical open the back and look for the wireless card (go on ecotechs website if you want to see what it looks like, RF module) they do make it a little confusing unless you ask someone or do some research :)

All you need to do is buy the rf module (around 60 bucks) and plug it in to the controller and you're wireless.
