VorTech Power Heads Question/Help

I have a quick question. I have a 48"x18"x24" tank that's located between two walls. I want to buy the Vortech pumps but I don't have room on either side of the tank for the "dry sides". The only way it would make sense is to put them on the back wall facing the front wall. Would I get enough flow in a mixed reef tank with this setup? I also have a Eheim 1262 as a return pump, returning water from the sump out of the corner over-flow. Any suggestions on placement would also be a help. Thanks -J

The key for you will be placement...Will it work? Yes Will it take some time to get the placement right? Yes

Be prepared to mess up some sand while you are trying to get placement.

I love vortechs, so this is not a shot against them, but do you really want 1 or 2 of them on your display sides of the tank? perhaps upping return pump, or add a recirc pump on a swirl? I just trying to make it so you dont dislike your view side, now if one wall is closed off, absolutely install one or 2 on those back walls and antisync them

um ya... he said that.
ok alex, I know you have a perfect picture of this gentleman's tank, I was unsure by his wording of the post if the "back wall" was open for a viewing panel like you see sometimes.. hence my reason for being unsure myself. I am sorry I offended you alex. I will try not to next time..

I know its all in good fun, I just dont understand why I was quoted by alex, I was merely trying to help the thread starter....

The OP stated that he does not have room on the sides of his tank to be able to do a side "install"... so he's trying to find out if a back glass placement will still work.

You suggested to not install them on the sides... when this is not even an option.
