This is what the advert says about it :

"The VorTech is designed to operate on gap thickness from 1/8" to 3/4"."

Which is too bad. I wonder if they will develop a version for thicker tanks ? *hint* *hint*

got a response from ecotech they said they're working on a kit for 1" thickness tank.

Depending on how things work out these could replace a closed loop nicely. Even though the upfront costs are higher, I would imagine that with our high electrical costs that $$ could be recouped in a reasonable amount of time.

A Sequence Dart = 3600 GPH (on a good day) @ 156 W, uncrontrollable

A vortec = 100 - 3000 GPH, variable, @ 40 W

So you could basically run 4 vortecs for the same amount of power as 1 sequence Dart on an OM 4 way, but you just have to be willing to dump those $$ up front for it.

The plus is you can buy their backup battery too that can run your vortech at 1/2 speed for 3 days. A very good insurance for your $$$$ tank.
