I'm running 2 6000's in a mixed reef 6' tank, both Tunze are on one end and push around 3-4ft into the tank, looking @ getting a couple 6095's or a little bigger to push back to the other end. I run a 7095 controller and not having owned the vortechs can't comment.
The Tunze units have worked flawless for me for the last 5-6yrs and I can't see myself going to anything else.
I would reccomend trying to find local people and hopefully seeing if you can compare in there tanks first. This hobby is full of different scenarios and setups so it'll be a hard choice.
