Vortech...Who has one?

Is it worth it? I currently have 2 sea swirls and 2 seios (1100 & 1500), and it just isn't enough flow, especially since I changed the aquascape. The vortechs are really pricey and I could swing for 1 unit. I could save a few bucks by ordering from Champion today.

If I purchase one pump, will it take the place of the seios or will I eventually need two vortechs? Anything else besides Tunze that will help with flow? I don't have many corals yet, just a few leathers, hammers, frogspawn, mushrooms and zoas.

I have a 125g tank with 2 vortechs with Wireless Controllers.

How big is your tank? Anything over 100g and I think you will want two.

So far, I really like them and think they are worth the money. They are very quiet and do not add heat to the tank.

The reef cycle works over a 4 hour period which is very subtle but gives great flow in all areas of my tank, even in a few spots that are cave-like and out of the direct line of sight.

With the pulse mode on, I was able to get a pretty decent wave going back and forth, but I don't have my coral in the tank yet, so I couldn't judge the impact below the surface.

If you can afford them, I highly recommend them.

I have 2 also. No wireless yet but man! They kick butt!

You're pretty close to me if you want to come by and check them out. I got mine at TFP with a 30% off coupon....saved over $100 bucks on each!

I just saw them and I have a few coupons. I will probably grab 2.

jay, yes TFP has them. I took my son with me one day in August when they had the 30% Thrifty Thursday coupon.

I had 2 coupons so I drug him with me.....heh heh he had just come back from iraq, I think he was still jet lagged cause narmally I would never be able to drag him to a fish store! lol

Josh, I had to take trip up ther on a Saturday to get the coupons....took a couple of friends with me so I had more then one. You have to ask at the desk when you walk in anf they'll give you one.
 
They do mail them to you if your on the list.
I just picked up 2 today from them.

one for 30% off one for 25% off.
They are real tough with those coupons. I begged the manager to help me . The 30% are now starting december 1st. They gave me a 25% coupon for thursdays and honored the second one for me today.
What a wild power head!!!!

yes. good for any day of the week. When you walk in on the left they have a stack of local newspapers. Its in the middle of the paper. I always grab a few but i was in a rush and freaking out about my tank and was in another world.:eek1: I grabed one and it was not good till December. The girl gave me the 25% off card that they mail.
 
i have been looking to get one also. the best deal i found was tpp with the 30% off coupon too. huey said he would pick it up for me but neither of us has a coupon :( ... he said it is impossible to get at the store. does anyone have an extra one?? or know the secret to getting one at the store :)
 
I would love to get my hands on a 30% coupon. I am on their mailing list (I receive thier catalogs via snail mail) but I have never gotten a coupon! I guess I am not as charming as Jay :)
 
a friend of mine called today to see if he could get a coupon for me .. he was told they dont have any and there is no 30% off coupon for dec.

i guess he isnt as charming as jay either :lol: .. jay what is your secret? i really want to get one but i want the 30% off .....

I have a coupon here but need it for salt. Like I have said before they have it in a local newspaper for the area. They keep extra newspapers on the shelf.

They have a 25% coupon card thats only good on thursdays. If your a premium customer just ask for one at the cust service desk. They are suppose to be mailed to customers. Just advise them you never received them.
 
It looks like a weekly newspaper. The coupon is in the middle. Remember to also ask for the thursday coupon from the desk.
