Vote on my aquascape!

Hey all. I am now in the process of cycling my tank and decided to try re-arranging things to see what it would look like. Dont want to add anything until i know i'll be happy with the design long term. Now i can't decide between my original design and the new design.

FYI.. Looks like you are a new user and your post included some external links..
This site has a spam protection feature which "jails" your post until a moderator approves it (usually 24 hours or less)...
Until that point we can see that you posted "something" we just can't see the main body of your post...

I like to let new users know when thats happening so they don't think we are ignoring them...
I'll be happy to bash..oops... I mean critique your aquascape once I can see it.. :)

Thanks. I'm used to new forum users not a being allowed to upload images instead... Oh well.

I think it depends on what you plan to keep. The separate islands looks like it has a bit more space for active swimmers. The centered looks like it has more hidey holes. Aesthetically they’re both nice.
 
Image #2 wins in my book. As a professional photographer (myself), the second image has the elements of good composition - - namely rule of thirds. The imbalance heights of the islands allows the eyes to follow a path (a story) which adds depth to the image.

Bring this photo on a group of experienced landscape photographers, hands down the second one wins. Of course there's still improvements needed photography speaking.

Now when it comes to aquascaping, it will ultimately depend on what you have. I initially started like your second photo but at the end I ended up a mix of the first and second but almost leaning to the first one. It's because of necessity. I have to add extra rocks to support certain corals and inverts. Some inverts are moving and had to aquascape based on what they want and not what I want. I had to readjust based on the flow and new equipment.

Just expect it will change so you don't get disappointed.
