Here are some pics of my new deepwater.

this is a fragment that broke off accidently from the main branch when I pulled it out of the bag

and here is a daylight pic of the colony.

will update later when it colors up

here is a top down update from today. this is very strange. I cut a large branch and placed it in higher lighting and they look totally different and uncharacteristic of a red dragon acro color. hmmm, these mariculture pieces are unpredictable sometimes, especially milleporas ime, but this is cool!!!!

Looks like it might become a purple base with some blue in the new growth. Should be NICE.

thanks. I'll make sure to update with more progression pics. has a few barnacles that will eventually go away but other than that it looks really healthy right now.

If you go to reefrafts website you can find their purple dragon that may look like that.
Are you referring to this by any chance? I have this and its a simplex, but I can't be sure with just this pic since the walindii also exhibits flat-like growth on the main stems. If this mariculture turns purple, I may have to visit reef raft and make a trade for his red one since i sold mine:headwally:

nice! I'm really looking forward to more deep water stuff showing up. I got a few pieces from extreme over the past couple weeks. Nothing that nice just yet.

Yeah, Ive seen some nice ones pooping up at the lfs these days including a pichoni colony but i have never seen a colored pichoni so we will have to wait and see. hope you score a nice one!

ohh nice a pichoni. Colour or not I would really like to get my hands on one, I really dig the shape. I got this odd green blue tipped half plating/half branching thing. I'm not quite sure what species it is.

How deep are they found in nature?
What lights you have for those in captivity?

Nice pics!!!!

Grandis.
Not sure. I misidentified my colony. after careful observation, it's not a walindii. it's an unknown deepwater. I am using 4 ati blue plus t5 bulbs and a ushio 150w hqi 20k. Thanks.
