i was in walmart and looking at the 3 gal. tetra cube and wondering if this wouald be a good pygma s.h. tank. they also have a 5 gal aqua culture tradidional tank kit that instead old the old school cannopy light. it has a led low profile top! has anyone seen or tryed these out? i tryed to find one online but cant.

I'm assuming you mean "dwarf" seahorses.
I have used a 2.5g tank but my preferred tank size is 5g and you can have about 20 in there no problem.
I don't know the Tetra line at all but I'm assuming it has a filter of some kind so you have to be sure to protect the intake so the dwarfs themselves, or even just their tails can't get caught up in it.
Personally these PnP tanks cost too much for what you get, especially when I can buy a small tank for around $10 or less.
I put a few live rock pieces in for biological filter and use open ended air line tubing for water circulation and plastic decor for hitching.
Because they only get fed on enriched ongrown bbs and the enrichment doesn't last long, I remove the left over food between feedings using a Marina i25 internal filter on a timer. (again, protect the intake portion but not with anything that will stop the bbs from passing through to the filter)
The timer allows for the filter to work about 2 hours and then shuts off and is ready for the new feeding.
It would be wise to start the brine shrimp before getting the dwarfs so you have the methodology down pat first.

I dislike lids on tanks because it depresses the pH by restricting the gas exchange necessary for that pH maintenance.
As I mentioned in my last post, you are probably talking about keeping DWARFs (H. zostera), not pygmies.
Pygmies are NOT available to the hobby as they have very specific requirements that cannot be met in hobby tanks.

Sorry, Dwarfs Yes. a hood wouald help since I have little ones and a neighboor of kids . They all want to hang out at my house . I don't want to find cheerios or something from smacking lips drooling over the tank.lol

Be sure to keep an eye on the pH then, especially in the morning just before lights come on when it should be at it's lowest point.

Very nice looking tank there.

Given the time frame of the post - has the tank had time to cycle before you added the seahorses?

sorr, this is not my tank. i found it online while researching. it was through a dealers site called saltcritters.
