so i picked up a really nice green maxima from ora and the little fella wont stay put. it fell off the rock i put it on but then i noticed my hepatus tang biting it and carrying it around the tank :mad2:
i built an egg crate square over it and 2 days later he had wandered out of it. why wont he stay put? and has anybody ever had a tang do this? its my first clam (and a nice one) i'd like to keep it alive. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Move it around to see where it likes. It could be the light, flow, whatever that it doesn't like about where you put it. Not to mention the tang nipping at it is not a good sign. Good luck

well since i posted this he's been settled in the sand we're going on his 3rd day in the same place. i was under the impression though that they shouldn't be in the sand. should i tuck some live rock around him in the sand?

from my reading maximas are fine in the sand, its the croceas that shouldnt be placed in the sand because of their fine gills
