Want a new fish - looking for suggs

I put my 11 yr old on this task last night. Here are her suggestions:

Yellow Belly Regal Blue Tang
Freckled Hawkfish
Orchid Dottyback
Azure Damsel
Tobacco Basslet
Striped Blenny

And she really likes the Curious Wormfish. Everything I've read about them says they're good in a reef tank. I think they're related to the engineer gobies, but I haven't heard if they burrow the same way. Not much info about them otherwise. Very tempted to try him at $35.

My Regal has been a model citizen in my reef. Of course, i am not one to deny a fish plenty of food.

Decided on Royal Gramma, Purple Dottyback instead of the Orchid, and a Powder Brown Tang.

I really wanted to buy the Regal, but I also read they can be an ich magnet. And the Powder Brown is on sale, so I am going to give him a shot.

I'll give these guys a chance to settle in and maybe add another fish or two in the spring.

Nice choices.

I'm not sure what DFS labels them as, but there are two different tangs commonly sold as the powder brown: A.nigricans and A. japonicus. They both look similar, but if I'm remembering correctly A. japonicus is a hardier fish.

Love your choices. We have the Gramma and Dottyback. I really like the eel like characteristics of the Dottyback.

The one I'm ordering is the A. japonicus version. Good to know he won't give me any trouble.

I had a Gramma before and thought he was a cool fish. I'd often find him swimming upside down under a rock ledge.

Don't tell my daughter I'm getting the purple dottyback and not the orchid. The orchid is $40 at a minimum while the purple is $8. I don't think she'll notice the difference and dad will save himself $$.
