Want to buy/trade for an air pump

I'm looking for an air pump that will push one of those big foam filters. Anyone have one?

air pumps are cheap your going to waste more in gas than what it cost

I'm running one now with an old Whisper 1000 & it just has enough air to power the filter. Whisper 1000's were $35-40 18 years ago. A big pump like that now costs $50-60.

Thanks, Montisteve...............not sure that one has enough power. I'll have to research it a bit more & find out just exactly how much air those filters need.

I have a Tetratec Deepwater DW96-2 never used. Let me know that is what you are looking for.

I saw this heavy duty high efficiency air pump for auction by a person in Amherst. "Regenair will supply you with 23 cfm max air flow." It should run several of these large sponge filters.


You could put a power head on top of the filter instead of using an air stone. Air bubbles produce a lot of salt spray that can corrode lids, lights, and even walls.
