Wanted Aptasia

HI Monk Seal Poipu Kauai
Anyone have some to spare? Frag plugs or small rocks covered with them would be perfect.

Thanks, Eric

TTT.

Does anyone have some aptasia they would be willing to donate or trade for Berghia nuidbranchs? Thx, Eric.

When I bred Berghia, was hard to keep aiptasia. You practically need another tank just to culture the aiptasia, keeping the aiptasia fed a lot to keep producing. While having the Berghia in another tank to drop in aiptasia time to time to feed them.

Yup, I'm growing aptasia in a separate tank. My first hatch has tons of Berghia (close to 100) and they eat like crazy. I way under estimated how many babies I'd have to feed.

try to keep the tank where the Berg's are being bred to be bare.. I had rocks that I was putting aipts in before containing some worms which were actually going after the baby Bergs. I dont remember if they were peanut worms, bristle worms that were going after them.

My first attempt was to breed them in my fuge and I noticed an explosion in pods but no baby berghias.

My second attempt was in an isolated tank and now I have tons of babies. The pods either ate the babies or the eggs or both.

For feeding the Berghia, I scrape the aptasia off the glass from a seperate tank and just add it by itself to prevent any unwanted pods/worm/pests getting into the breeding tanks.
