Wanted Mh Lighting For 20 High

I think i want to upgrade to MH lighting for my 20H I like the idea of the light being farther up from the water to cut down on water splashing up and also more light for my anem. I am not sure what size i need but if you have anything laying around I have plenty to trade or I can purchase even if it is a DYI project. thanks casey

I have an eight month old ice cap 400 watt electronic ballast and a 400 watt aquaconncet bulb that 1 month old I'd sell to you for $150 for both. The bulb alone is $140 bucks and the ballst is just shy of $200, and is electronic, not a mag style so it'll save energy. The aquaconnect bulb also has the highest par of any 14k bulb and since it'll be stand alone, it'll give you great color and super high intensity so you can hang it really high above the water if you want so you won't have to worry about heat. Alls you would need is a reflector and mogul socket which would be another $20ish or so, unless you want to get a good pendant. Heck, I even think I have a 20k helios bulb that's only a month or two old I can through in too.

That would make a great setup over a 20H.... A bit much for a 20L, but a 20H, coupled with this light, and a nice CL would make a sweet nano SPS tank..
