wanted- professional level stand builder

Hi Amanda,
I have built tanks and stands. Metal and wood. Totally custom top of the line though, no garbage.
Let me know if your interested in one.
Regards,
Doug

Yeah if I want to buy a cheap stand from a guy who builds in his garage I guess I can't complain when my tank explodes in my living room. If you want the best it doesn't come free. I love it how you expect hard work and craftsmanship to cost next to nothing. You can not just assume you know exactly how I would build a stand and that the material I would use is only 800 dollars. I may put an electronics compartment under the stand, I may weld an aluminum lighting bracket on pull out hinges for the canopy. The fact is you have no clue how or what style I build to so you really can't make a statement about how someone is getting ripped off when your just plain inept.

yeah... maybe back to just lurking... yeah...

to give you guys a ball park, the yacht interior builder PLUS LFS markup was around the $2000 mark... but they never came back firm.

Now that may mean that they found their firm was quite a bit higher and so chose to not reply... so I won't be surprised if someone says a high figure... I just need someone who can actually speak to the photo and quote me on matching the design and quality.

Doug864, if you can build to the quality in my attached zip photo, let me know.

As of right now, Dryaxe and ford are the only ones who've actually confirmed they are capable or know of someone who is.

Hi camryn1,
That is a simple shaker style piece. Maybe in walnut wood. The pic isn't that good so I can't tell the quality or wood species. But the shaker style door is easy compared to a raised panel.

Doug

maple but yeah, it's Shaker style- the mennonite are a northern group of a similar folk.

Send me a quote if I can tempt you on the project. I'd even take a door off and deliver so that comparable wood and stain can be id'ed first...

if you get doug to build you the stand/canopy, you can't go wrong. I know him personally, and he takes pride in everything he does...you won't be disappointed.

Here is mine. It is about 2700.00 for the cabinet work and granite.

I would put that stand in my house. Nice job! I am doing a stand right now and skinning the outside in all granite. It makes your tank stand out from the rest.
