I have cleaned it, soaked it in vinegar, and I even tried to start it dry.......nothing.... well, except the foul smell of toasted elecrical components which crawled from the belly of the old blue beast.
Last night when I took it out of the sump it was warm. So warm, in fact, it was uncomfortable to keep your hand on it for more than 1-2 minutes. I knew then it was time to retire it, but I gave it my best to revive it, in hopes to bide myself another 2-3 weeks.
I guess 10 years is a good life for a pump...
