Wanted to Share my New Wrasses

most of my photos are crappy but here's some pretty nice ones.

the first few is of my vanuatuan hooded fairy wrasse flashing.

and the bottom 2 is of my big marjorie. it's not with me anymore.

but if it's fairy wrasses you want to see, here's some from sometime ago that appeared in my LFS.

they're just unpacking and placed temporarily in baskets first.

C. bathyphilus
C. scottorum
C. laboutei and
C. lineatus

i hope i'm not going off topic here

the pics are not taken by me. they're taken by my friend lawrence, so incase you're reading this, i hope you don't mind me using your photos.

Awesome pics. The first one almost looks like the Nachkey's wrasse :)

yes they are closely related somewhat.

i do not have nahacky's wrasse. brad does and he has taken some awesome photos of it recently.

it made me salivate just looking at those pics!

Here they are.

I took them yesterday and thought they were nice.

Nice. My wrasses have been open to being cleaned by the cleaner wrasses as well.

I love the colors on the Nahackey.

It's a great club to be in. " Addicted wrasse club". LOL

I know nothing of this "wrasse addiction" you speak of :hmm2:

Nice selection of wrasses, some of my favorites in your group. I will warn you that the wrasse bug has been known to be a formatable foe, one day its a Lineatus, the next day your exchanging emails with a guy in Japan trying to figure out how to ship this 2" fish all the way to your house in Nebraska :lmao:

Haha, funny. I'm gonna look around for a Attenuatus, but I hear they are hard to come by.

What fish are you getting from Japan? haha

attenuatus! brad has a ridiculous male that makes my hair stand just looking at it!

husker reef has gotten many insanely rare and gorgeous wrasses from japan!
C. earlei
C. lunatus
C. lunatus X C. cf. lanceolatus

ohhhh my head is spinning.

Well if you are getting any nice ones in, let me know. Money isn't a problem.

If you know where I can get an Attenuatus, let me know as well :)

ha! attenuatus is very rare in my country and the last one that came in was many many years ago.

i've not seen any since! you have better luck searching for them in the U.S. liveaquaria had a few specimens for sale last year. keep a lookout on diver's den!

of course, there are some unobtainable flasher wrasses that really scream rare.

such as walton's flasher, nusalim's flasher, togean and hemitaeniatus. all these have not entered the trade yet and i really wish to see one, some day.

This is the reason I sit in front of my computer at 11pm every night. Great pictures. Lemon, Bradley's right your info is always appreciated. In fact your posts are among some of my favorites to read.

i hope i continue to find interesting stuff to share here :smurf:

This Reef Central site is a blessing. And a curse, it makes me desire to spend money I need for other things!
Beautiful fish!

Matthew

So what are some other rare wrasses that I should look for? I found the eight line flasher which looks very nice. Anything else I should look at ?

Thanks. I was pretty excited about getting them into my tank. Its really fun to watch the activity in the tank now. Looking for a coupe more and I'll call it done until I can upgrade tanks.
