Im looking for one of our budding photography buffs to give a talk. The theme would be obviously photography, but also how to upload to a photo hosting site, how trim and create a great picture. Details such as free ware or cheap ware photo editing, color balance, composition, depth of field etc should be included.

If you would liek to volunteer, please PM me.

Thanks.

Paul.

ohhh... i can't wait to hear this talk as I am a complete amatuer in photography.. but I have recently became more interested in it for sure. :)

Well, I'm not too good with the actual camera, but I'm decent with the picture. If you need help with editting, hosting, or posting, let me know.

This is a great topic! I have a half way decent camera but can't take a good photo of fish. I take 100 pix and find maybe 1 or 2 that I like.

ok...
i need people to talk about

CAMERA issues, optics, lenses, macro, depth of field etc, flash bounce

Photoediting, Ethicality, sharpening, color balance, programs, sizing, composition

Webhosting, sites, costs usability.

Thanks.

I can so ditto that.

I have an excellent camera but I cant work the manual focus because its all electronic and it does not take lens attachments (my downfall).

Everytime I line up a good pic the camera changes automatcially the focus and the pic comes out crappy. I have learned to lock the focal length and then move back and forth manually until it looks good, then its a crapshoot.

Now Russ, the real photographers tell me out of 100 pics you get 1-2 really good ones, so you are doing something right.

Same here, Gerald. I have a Fuji FinePix S5100. It does have a manual focus by pressing buttons and not turning the lense, but it is so poor and difficult to use, it's not worth it. I would be very happy to see someone come up and do a presentation for actual photography.

I could definately cover the web posting side of things, and plug POTM, of course. I could also talk a bit about photo editing. And while I have a good camera, I am really still learning how to use the advanced features...

I can cover the computer side of it about editting the picture. I would prefer someone with a little more time to take that spot though. I'm hoping to work on some other stuff in the mean time.

Teach me how to use "The Gimp", Paul!! :D Since I am too cheap to pay for photoshop CS. Have to learn how to use this Nikon D50 first. :)

i can deal with camera aspects and what they are....but i would like others to give talks rather than myself.

and we would almost need a laptop on hand....it makes it a lot easier to explain/show things

Paul W can one laptop be displayed/linked to show on the big screen at UCO?

charlie

Yes, it can. And I have a laptop, in case I am doing the presentation.

Next month I will likely be out of town during the meeting...
