I have the 2 reactors also, man my skimmer is going nuts it blew the top off with foam SWC 160 skimmer now i have to put something on top of the lid.

Ya... got mine from hobby lobby. There is a pack of 6 3" ones but those seem to have large holes in the center. I got those and used them for the bottom since I had to cut the center out. I got 2 6" and cut them down. I'm sure either will work.

So... it's been a little more than 2 weeks.
My nitrates are always low. Just registers a color on the Seachem test. Very faint pink at least below .5. Well today I test my NO3...does not even register a color. Stone cold zero.
My PO4 is measured on a high sensitivity Merck kit. I can't tell a absolute number, but when my GFO is new it registers a faint blue and when it is ready to change it is a bit more blue... I always consider that .008 and .015 respectively. I know it is very low, just a hint of blue. Well I test today expecting a .015 since I have not been running GFO..... plain solid yellow.... zero. No blue.
I was not expecting this since it did not seem like I have less film algae on the glass like when I use GFO, but I have not been paying that much attention. But no color in either test was quite cool.
The pellets are tumbling. They are getting sticky and clumping together a bit. Easy to break up, but it does cause some channeling in the pellets if flow is not kept up.
I also started dosing MB7 just for the heck of it. Got a small bottle at the LFS and it was not much so I figured I would do it just as a boost. Don't plan on using it long term. But I have only dosed for low nutrients and added 4 drops on two occasions so I have not been doing this the whole time or very much.
Cyano is still present but I am attributing this to the old rock I put back in the tank. Colors on my coral are getting better, but I also ran my halides up from 6 hours to 9 hours and attribute much of the improvement to that. My Superman Monti is now Superman again and not all brown like it was.

Maybe - depends on reactor.
My experience with SDN is they are good to about 10ppm, then carbon dosing or ZEO comes into play. Point I am attemping to make is pellets will do better job under most conditions.
What SND filter do you have? I have a Midwest and am pondering modifying it to work like a real reactor. (flow from center of bottom, with relatively equal upward flow.
I have tried everything over the years, nothing seemed to work as well, as fast as pellets.

I have the same one from Midwest.... I am still a N00b when it comes to this Reef game and well let me tell ya... seems like nohting I am doing is working out for me (Did help either that my girl didnt play the electric bill and I had not power for 2 days)... Just trying to get everything as close to zero as I can... I am trying to redo my whole sump system (New Sump, Skimmer, Reactors, and so forth). I just jumped into it and bought whatever the guy at the Petstore told me I needed... Needless to say everything was low end and pretty shotty in construction.. ANY Hoot...
its been 2 weeks since I started the ecobak. phosphate in the 150 reef 2 weeks ago was 46, now 47. phosphates in the 240[this tank has angels and a few corals]2 weeks ago was 39, now 27. phosphate reading from a hanna checker. the ecobak in both tanks are in BRS reactors. the 150 has a dual reactor, with carbon in one side. the ecobak in this reactor doesn't tumble. the ecobak on the 240 is single reactor and is tumbling. the 240 is fed more than the 150. the skimmer on the 240 produces heavy now, thick dark green liquid. both reactors have a maxijet 1200 for flow. I plan to replace the pump on the 150 reactor with a higher flow pump to get the stumbling action. both tanks are dosed weekly with prodibio. any suggestions on which pump to use for better flow?

From what I understand they still do not have the labels made for the containers yet. Should be soon. I bought mine from Jon Warner while he gave a talk regarding them at a reef club meeting, I have heard if you contact Warner Marine they will send you what you need, minus the label.So I don't think the vendors have them yet.

There seems to be a difference between these and the others. WM only says 100 gph is needed and they do not need to tumble. Seems that the need for tumbling comes from the other pellets sliming up.
My pellets are not slimed up. The only reason I tumble mine is because the pellets will stick together and form channels through the media. It is easy to break them up by just stoping flow and starting again. But now I leave them on a gentle tumble just so it does not channel.
I use a Mag 5 but it is split to my two BRS reactors. I doubt I have more than 250 gph going through my pellets. ays placing pellets in a media bag and setting them in the sump is acceptable.

I am running a maxi-jet 1200 with 750ml in my 550 and they are tumbling, I have been running it for 1 week. The round sponge that comes with it,I took a razor blade and sliced it in half into 2 pieces for top and bottom, works good!
