When I had removed the volcano, it had appeared to darken some more around the top edge. It does not smell like electrical stuff burning. Reading the side of the box it states it is non toxic resin but it is hand painted. Hand painted with what kind of paints? No where on the box does it state it is contraindicated for saltwater use. It says it is made in Europe- do they have stricter or lesser standards on these types of things than the U.S.?
Now I use Hydor pumps without any problems in my smaller tanks and R/O water tanks. I will have to try their magnum line to see if the magnet will actually stay in place on the glass on my 120g. I just was not sure where to post this except for the fact that I had lost so much enjoyment with my Picasso's' with their unique swim pattern- like a drunken fish:eek1: , the quirkiness of the file fish and the sprinting of the firefish. I just hope nobody else has the same fate that my fish had!
ps- Mandarin fish must be hardy little shavers! He is the only original fish left from the beginning not the least bit affected. He is still scooting about eating and doing 'his thing'.
