Washing dead rock in dishwasher?

I went on vacation and the first day I was notified that there were piles of food on my fish tank. I have an automatic feeder. 11 days later when I got home my entire tank was dead. I had nuisance algae on the rock. There is nothing living on the rock and I am not restarting this tank right now. I had my fish for years, raised them from just above fry, and it was a pretty devastating loss.

Can I wash that dead rock in the dishwasher without soap? I have no concern for any bacteria or pods that may have made it (though I don't believe there is a single living thing in that tank).

I would say no. there will be soap still in the dishwasher. Probably some old chili too.

I would say no due to soap residue from prior washes. I would just buy a brute, bleach the rock (about a 1:10 bleach/water ratio) and then dry it out

take out all the rock and soak it on vinegar. and let it die off with flow
