Washing Filter Socks

No need to worry about the clothes.
I have been doing it this way for years without incident.

Turn socks inside out.
Drop in machine.
Add bleach, NO DETERGENT.
Run cycle.
Run second rinse.
Hang to dry.

That's it.

+1 on what SeanT said.

Put in washer with bleach, no detergent. Air dry. Simple and works very effectively.

I am on well water, I pull them out , turn them inside out, pre wash in tub to remove excess. Then one cycle thru washing maching and back into sump .

Worry about clothes? Do not put clothes in with filter socks..

About 3/4 - 1 cup of bleach with the extra large load cycle (assuming it's a top loading machine).

I also do the 1 cup of bleach thing - in addition I thoroughly rinse the saltwater out of the socks before I put them in the washer. Some folks have warned about problems with rusting the washer after a long period of sock washing.

Bleach, no detergent, extra rinse. I also turn the temperature over to "hot" and run it on one of the longer cycles, then once more through the same cycle with no bleach.

I use 4" socks, and they're tough to turn inside out, so I don't -- they still look just as clean on the inside as the outside.

I cut the little plastic thing- in the middle- out, it makes it easier to turn inside out. The outside plastic ring is e-nuf to support bag..

I cut the plastic middle out too. Like someone else noted on another thread, I use a piece of scrap 1" PVC to help push it inside out.
