Hey everyone, I feel so guilty just letting the waste part of the RO water just go down the drain. Is there anything that I could use it for? What do some of you do with it?

Thanks for reading,
Cindy

My RODI's in the garage. I made my waste water line about 50' long and use it for watering trees, topping off a fountain we have in front of our house, bird baths, etc...........

All the above

All the above

Most of it goes into my washer, as my unit is in the basement right next to the machine. But I also use it for WCs in my fresh water tank, and watering bushes, trees, shrubs etc in the yard. Seems a shame to let it go down the drain, especially when the water bill comes.

I use the waste for freshwater tanks as well. Always assumed the waste water was still cleaner than the tap water. After all, it has passed through 2-4 other filters.

Never had a problem with water conditions either. Even had German Blue Rams breeding in the RO waste water.

It would be way cool if there was a way to use this water to fill up toilets after flushing them.... I guess the way it could be accomplished is by using gravity.

+2 on the washer. I don't use that much water so I just stick the hose in the washer. Just don't overflow it like I have ;)

Since waste water in Ohio is high in hardness it is especially good to use in African cichlid tanks for water changes.
