Water Change Water

Ok, I have a question about water change water. I do is my water changes by filling a 30 gallon Rubbermaid trash can with 25 gallons of RODI water, and adding the appropriate amount of salt. I usually start the process of filling the can as soon as I finish doing a water change. So typically my mix of salted RODI water sits for a week before the next water change. Occasionally it may get lazy and it sits 2 or 3 weeks.

I have noticed that sometimes when I go to do the water change, the hose and inside of the can feels slimmy. Is this anything to be concerned with?

I'm thinking those of you who have larger water change tanks, (Mpcart) there must be water sitting for several weeks.

Thoughts????

I have a 65 gallon RO tank and a 65 gallon saltwater tank in my water change station. Both have water in them for 4-6 weeks as I do water 15% water changes about once a month-ish. I like to have saltwater on hand at all times in case there is an emergency of some sort.

I can't feel the inside of my tanks or the hose so I don't know if it was slimy or not.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I get a slimyish feeling on my hoses as well if I wait a while do use my mixed water. Ive never noticed anything negative from it.

225 gallon water change containers here, a little slime won't hurt;)

I get a lot of precipitation from the salt I use. That's why I let it run for a week before I buffer and let it go in the tank. Then I take my water change container, rinse it out, refill with water and salt and let it mix for next week. It's easier to rinse the container than to deal with the mess in the tank.
