Water change

Well if you change the pitch on a prop it changes flow at the same RPM levels. I assume it is changing flow.

I am just trying to get a feel for how much of an improvment it really is.

ie....worth my time.

When you change your filter pads do one at a time don't change them all at once as alot of good bacteria lives on the pads that you will be removing.

I couldnt find my vacuum. I guess I will have to buy a new one tomorrow.
I checked my level after the 20% change yesterday is still around 12.5 ppm nitrate.
I plan on changing some tonight, and some more tomorrow, since I dont have class.
What I did for now was change out a filter pad and I moved around alot of the shells on the bottom and really clouded up the tank. I assumed that this would allow the filters to suck up some of the nasty stuff.
The water is almost clear again and it seems like there is substantially less detrius (SP) on the shell substrate.

I also had a few conch shells and a barnacle cluster in the tank which seemed to have alot of build-up in them and took them out for awhile.

Did I do anything wrong really wrong here?
