water changes: is there an app for that?

I use my reminders app all the time
"remind me in 30 days to switch out gfo"

Isnt the point of tech to better your life?

It is not lazy.

If so txting/email/clocks are all evil.

Do you use an alarm clock to get up in the morning? Just saying,,,,,,

And I love my Apex... Guess I just want to feel young....... Iphone, Apex, girlfriend half my age.....lol
Maybe it's a midlife crisis for me......
funny! Even more funny, I NEVER use an alarm clock and I get up very early every morning. I don't have an Apex but I have a Neptune and I've got a smartphone. One of my GF's is 10 years younger than me... so you got me beat there by having one half your age. I'm 50 years young. Definitely no midlife crisis here.

*Any 25 year olds out there wanna apply?* :)

Lazy and evil are two totally different things ;)

Bhahahahahahah, To funny.......:D:D

Maybe I'm miss understanding what happened here. Did a "fun" topic just turn ugly?

Usually when a team rc member calls half of a forum lazy it turns ugly haha But at least now when know he has a few gf's and is looking for more haha Love ya Gary!!

When you say app do you mean appendages? Like left and right limbs with fingers? Thats really all I ever use to do water changes or scrub algae. Got hundreds of tanks running, don't own a single controller or alarm clock. Get up at 5 am to start my "app" water changes. Leave my iPhone for more important stuff like Facebook or Draw Something.

Apex app will aid your 50 gallon water change but you may need a smart phone or computer to use it.......
I don't get it. Your upset because someone is using an app to aid them in when to do a water change. But your on a computer or "smart phone" getting info about your system.... Hummmmmm, Glass House.

Twist it however you like

There is a limit to my edumacation .............. :)

:lmao:

If you use an app for a water change I'm not implying you're necessarily evil or lazy :hmm5:

You still have to PHYSICALLY set up the water change beforehand.

What I was getting at was kids that don't wanna do anything. Is there an app for that. Can I PHYSICALLY get out of taking care of something. Now if you're using an app on your PC or smartphone to trigger a water change that you PHYSICALLY set up in advance... that's not evil or lazy.

That's pretty smart :beachbum:

I wouldn't have any money to buy salt if I bought controller(s) and the gizmo's needed (Do they have an app for that?) to make it work for 6 systems (I don't know how many controllers I'd need for 6 systems). Where's the fun when you don't have to put your hand in the water ...... :D

Have they even come out with something that will mix salt yet? I think tad had something at the museum that would do it all right? now I do need a app for cleaning the glass behind the rock stack that stinks.

I know what you're saying but for me..nowadays...the fun is NOT putting my hand in the water. (Which is impossible, BTW. For example: I have some coral frags that the fish broke off. If I leave them on the bottom of the aquarium they'll die and make a mess.) Most of the "big name" reefkeepers that I talk to have yet to delve into the use of controllers. Personally, I shunned controllers and even automated kalkwasser dosers (!) up to just recently.

Could this work?

Hah! I made one of those with my Dad 40 years ago! He had the coil and the old heavy headset! Thanks for the memories, TMZ.

Maybe you could pick up the 'Saltwater Guy' lol
