Water changes using a cooler?

my sump is in the basement, separate from my tank. I had an idea, I could buy one of those 48 qt. coleman coolers (the generic one everyone has) and put it on a stand, next to and above my sump. I could mix the saltwater up and let it "age" in the cooler, and when it came time to put it in, just pull the drain on the coller and there she goes.

Are there any flaws in this plan?

Hook a tube up to the drain - the splashing/"chugging" and resulting salt creep will kill you. Besides that, just check what kind of plastic it's made of. You're most likely good (we generally stick to "food grade" because we know exactly what quality it is) as not only "food grade" passes the test.
