Water changes

I know i've been out of the hobby for a while, but can you guys remind me how often you do water changes? I searched it and it seems alot of people do 10% every week or 20% every 2 weeks. That seems like alot and I dont remember doing it that often. Jeff

I am lazy and change maybe 5-10% every 2-3 months.

Probably should do more often, but I skim & I have DSB & lots of live rock.

So worst case my trace elements are low. I dose kalk & sodium bicarbonate by hand for now. Waiting to set up calcium reactor.

150 gal tank with 40 gal sump with DSB in both tanks.

And I use aquavitro salinity.

I also do a 10% water change every Sunday on my biocube. I'm using Coralife marine salt mix. With every water change i feed prime reef frozen food 1 cube with 1 cube of mysis or brine shrimp mixed with Kent marine MicroVert and ZooPlex.

I got 5 gallons every week or two. I know my trace elements get too low and that I should do them more. Running a 60 with a 20 gallon sump and skimmer.

Thanks guys, I'll start doing 10 gal a week. I really miss that auto waterchange system I used to have right about now. Then again, it will never be as easy as it used to be.

Tom if you run out you can always use the stuff in the pantry......right??

Jeff there's nothing to stop you rebuilding it over time.
