water changes.......

I was doing my weekly wc today and decided to test my clean water. And I realized why I always have problems with Mg. My Reef crystals only tested at 1100ppm at 1.026! What's up with that? Here I have been adding Mg supplement like a mofo only to find out I am taking it out every time I do a water change. I guess I need to add some Mg to my make-up water every time I mix it, anyone else adding other supplements to their make up water? Now that I think about it I wish I would have checked the Ca level as well to make sure I wasn't sucking that out of my tank too.

Maybe check the mag against another test. Number seems low for RC

I dont add anything to my makeup water, used to but it really is a pain. I run a calcium reactor with Zeomag in it along with the regular media and dose limewater, never have any problems with calcium, alk, Mg etc.

Ive also seen low Mg readings from RC.

I've been thinking about running Zeomag, how low of ph does it need to disolve? I'm already running it in the low 6's because i have huge media. I really wish i would have gotten your Kalk reactor Allen. I've been watching the for sale forums for one.

It has to be pretty low, 6.0 to 6.2.

Keep looking they are around, just have to be in the right place at the right time.

My OC was running really low, 1000 ish, the first bucket of RC I have tested my water at 1200 ish.
