Water level for TUNZE 9005

Ok so I added a tunze 9005 skimmer to my sump about 2 weeks ago. The issue I'm having is that my water level is about 1-1.5" below the water level indicator on the skimmer. I'm having trouble making it bubble high enough to get into the collection cup even if the air valve is all the way open. Does the water lever have to be as high as the line on the skimmer for it to skim and collect in the cup?
Any info would be great.

Do you have the sump kit for the 9005?

No I dont think I have it unless it come with the skimmer? Are you talking about the Extension Set? If so how would that make a difference? Does that allow you to have a lower water level?

Anybody? If I add the extension set does it allow me to run the skimmer at a lower water level?

Yes, the extension set allows a water level from 4-11". As delivered the skimmer will work in a 9.5-11.5" water level but from personal experience the ideal is 10-11".

Hey Roger, thanks allot for the reply. Well thats good news, that saves me having to glue a new piece to my baffle to make the water level higher. Now to try and get and extension set ordered.....
