Hey guys,
for other purposes I was looking at replacing some of the solenoids I use on both of my auto top off systems. They're mcmaster-carr part number 7877k55, a 12VDC solenoid that will handle 100psi pressure. They've worked very well over the years, I used to run the 120VAC units but for safety sake I've moved to the 12VDC units about 4 years ago. But they're not bullet proof, especially in high humidity environments, so I replace them from time to time. I'm also considering using some on an automated water change systems I'm planning.

But here's the rub. When I last bought them, they were $21. Now they're $61. Does anyone know alternative solenoids closer to the $20 range? I don't really want to give up the performance and integration flexibility these have offered me, but I'm using 4 on a daily basis and I think it's prudent to start replacing them as a preventative measure as they're nearing 5 years of age.
