Water storage ideas anyone???

I have a 75 FOWLR and need to change my water storage. I have been using a gray rubber made tub and just try to remember to shut off the RODI system in time. Needless to say I have forgotten to many times and really need an auto shut off valve and possibly a clear storage tank. I was thinking of using a pvc toilet shut off valve and just putting it into the rubber made. This would cost less then $20. Because it is going up high on a shelf in the laundry room, we need to get something clear so I can monitor the levels. I want to go inexpensive and have purchased extra hose to put in the bottom of the storage tank for easy fill up. I am still considering using the rubber made but want to hear other ideas.

I have also tossed around the idea of getting one of those water tanks you see in offices that you just put upside down on the base but don't know how the shutoff would work on that....possibly cut into the side towards the top of the tank and have a float attached to a rod that shuts off the valve like on some toilets. Please give me some ideas, and pics would be great as well!!!!

You might still waste some water, but what about running a simple bulkhead overflow to your washer so that if you do forget about the water running it will still end up in a drain? $5 and almost completely foolproof. You could also do that in addition to the shutoff in case the shutoff fails.

I use a trashcan with a float valve. I think the float valve is like $13...most RODI already come with the auto shutoff feature, but otherwise I think that's only another $13.

Check out airwaterice.com ~they offer 10% off for Girs club members too.

I purchased my 110 g Chem-Tainer on E-bay, about $250 delivered! Set-up on a water heater stand. Ro is attached to a float valve also from e-bay. The float valve keeps H20 about 1-2 inches lower than the float valves imput hole. so it dosnt need a fancy seal. Keep your trash cans outside! Good luck!

I also drink my RO/DI water so I feel much better knowing that everything is FDA approved! Ive found that the cheapest isnt always the best...
