Water storage

What do you use to store your ro/di water in?

I've been using 5 gallon jugs and it getting very old whe. I have to make water once a week. I'd like to find a good storage container that will allow me to make larger amounts at one time and be easier to store. I was looking at those 55 gallon plastic blue barrels, but the closest one I can find near me is 2 hours drive for $20. Can anyone suggest a better idea. If you know of anyone closer to leesburg, fl that carries larger reef safe water storage containers I would be greatly appreciative

They are kinda expensive, But read the grey brute trash cans are Food safe, and available at most home stores(lowes, etc..) GL

Rubbermaid storage container. The sides bow out when full because they are rectangular instead of round. Been using it for years with no issues.

preff-good to see another reefer here locally, I'm in Gilberts.

I use Brute Garbage Cans for water storage, I've used rubbermaid in the past as well and they work fine. Currently I have 2 cans set up and drilled with float valves, one fresh, one salt. Pretty easy.

I found some old water softener containers from a local water supply company and they work great. They are approximately 30 gallons each and they gave them too me for free since they have to change them out every so often

I also use a couple of 32 gallon Brute storage containers. I have the wheels underneath to move them around. Haven't drilled them or anything yet, though.

Brute garbage cans -- The industry standard. :)

Leesburg's a half hour from Orlando, plenty of places to find containers there. Check Craig's List, there used to be a guy who regularly had them on there. Also check with ORCA (Orlando Reef Caretakers - o-r-c-a.com), and if you're not a member, join. :)

Thanks Jeff,

I'm a member of orca. Have been for awhile now. I just can't make the meetings because I work saturday nights. But leesburg is further than a half hour to Orlando. Maybe to the outskirts.

I've checked with the guy on craigslist with the 55gal barrels but he's about an hour and 45 mins drive. He only wants $20 a barrel, but if I only need one it doesn't pay to drive out there.

But compared to the brutes it's about the same
