Water Storage

I am going to need to have around 200 gallons of water ready to go for this weekend.

I have no problem making this much water but i do have a problem with a place to put it. does anyone know where or how i can get a large container or a few maybe 50 gallon ones that i can fill up??

I was going to buy like 10 trach cans but it would have cost alot.
if ihave to I guess thats what I will do but I was hoping someone would have a better idea.

some possible containers:

at many stores (target, etc....)

rubermaid storage boxes and other brands -- I have 25 gallon
and one that is I think 43 Gal ? less than 50 but it's like a darn bathtub!

also 30-50 gallon rubermade trash cans, just make sure it's the solid bottom ones ....

or at a "feed store" you can find livestock watering troughs in different sizes and shapes that are made from though plastic
I have heard of 50 Galon and even up to 200 Gallon.

Depending on where you are located, I have a 44 gallon and 20 gallon that I use for mixing which are currently not in use at the moment that you are welcome to borrow for your project.

You can also pick up the 18 gallon plastic bins at WalMart or Big Lots for under 4 bucks each.

keith I can let you borrow 2 44 gallon brutes. I am using one to transport some rock tonight and in the morning then they will be free. I also have about 20 gallons of mixed water in the other but since when could I not use another small water change. you can get one of them tonight if you want.

Since you only need them for the weekend, you could return the trashcans after using them....

Not saying thats right but water isn't going to harm anything

rob that would be great. if you can give me a ring when i could come get them that would be great. i could come get oen today and the other tomorrow so I could start filling and mixing.

Vigo (near Anderson & Hillsborough in Tampa), you can get 50g plastic drums from them for like $5 a pop. However, they are usually dirty, they may smell rancid, and the odor can last months - they are used to import foods, imagine a gallon of rotten olives cooking inside a hot drum.

I saw 44 gallong brutes on clearance sell in front of Lowes last Sunday. Don't know if they have any left or not.

keith anytime tomorrow one is empty now and the other water can go in 5 gallon buckets so you can get them as soon as you like tomorrow.

same place keith. you don't think I would have moved that big tank without you do you? that should be good after 4. call on the way since it is the season for all hell to break loose at work. I am not on call though so if I make it to the time clock and punch it they have to bug the other guy.

U can ask a Local reef store to bring it. They sometimes change a surcharge depending on the distance and time.

well that would work but i could by a few nice RO/DI units for the amount is would cost for that much premade water
