+1 on glass lid removal and making a DIY mesh net top (check out the bulkreefsupply.com video tutorial). A fan blowing across the water surface can lower the temp by a few degrees too.
 
Cut a piece of egg crate instead of the glass. My daughters 30 gallon tank is usually around 81-82 during the day with no issues.
